Chrononaut in September

Ah another wonderful night at the Chrononaut. This time around we had Eli August and Veronique Chevalier with Mr. Huxley Vertical performing. And what a wonderful show it was. Got to snap a couple of real nice photos and a capture a few videos of the performances. As usual the bulk of them are up on the Manticore Society myspace.

Long Beach Comic-Con

Looks like there is going to be another convention on the horizon. The first annual Long Beach Comic-Con will be taking place on October 2-4. At the moment a full weekend pass is $45 and day passes are $25. Children under 12 enter free. Also with a purchase of a full weekend pass you'll score a free copy of Amazing Spider #606 with a variant cover.

For those interested we're looking to gather together on one of the days to do a meet & greet and then perhaps hoist a pint or seven and some good grub at the Irish pub Auld Dubliner right across the street from the convention center. Current plan is to meet at the top of the escalators in the convention center that leads down into the dealer's hall around 2pm.

Pyrate Daze

It's time to dust off those eye patches and shine up your flintlocks because national 'Talk like a Pirate Day' is soon upon us! And this weekend we're going to celebrate it in style. How? Well on board the Queen Mary in Long Beach on the 19th to the 10th (Saturday/Sunday) there will be a special event known as Pyrate Daze. And that's not all! Performing at the Masquerade Ball will be the aerial scallywags known as Abney Park and on the 20th (Sunday) it is 'Steampunk Sunday'. Tickets for the Masquerade Ball and concert is $80 (you must buy online) while just a day's admission without the ball and concert is $20 which is payable at the door. Hope to see you there!

Time for Chrononaut

Look like it's time for another night of music and steamy goodness in San Diego once again! What am I talking about you ask? Why it's time for Chrononaut of course! Performing this time around is Eli August, featuring members of Fermata, on their first US tour and Veronique Chevalier accompanied by Seth Bedford of Huxley Vertical. Also your host, Prof. J. S. Greyshade will be blasting away the tunes throughout the night. There will also be a marketplace of the strange and wonderful with 'Obscure Discovery', a photo booth by Jerry, and other eye catching attractions. Hope to see you there!
